Meet Coach Liza!

Liza started coaching at Ampersand in February of 2024.

Before Liza became a coach she was an awesome member with us for 4.5 years.

Liza has a great sense of humor and can crack a joke or two. 

When it comes to getting members results, she cracks the whip and is all business on the goal to be achieved.

Liza made the jump from member to coach when the opportunity to help our members in a coaching role presented itself.

Liza started her coaching journey working with clients 1-on-1 where she could deliver individualized client results in a personal setting.

Liza loves coaching clients 1-on-1 but she also found that she also enjoys group coaching as well. 

She enjoys the energy and the support in the group classes at Ampersand and has been stepping into the group coaching role most recently, give her some knuckles the next time you see her coaching it up.

She can help you with her favorite movement of getting your first pull up or finally tackling those pesky double unders… and much more!

Get to know Liza!

What inspired you do become a coach? Or why do you like coaching?

Coaching comes natural to me as I coached ski racing in my 20’s and 30’s, so if I see someone struggling with a movement I want to help them. I also want to help people reach their fitness goals and see them excited about accomplishing something they didn’t think they could do.

What’s your go-to pump-up song for a workout?

I don’t have a go to song, but I usually like something with a good beat that drowns out the sound of my breathing.

If you could only do one exercise for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? OR whats your favorite workout movement?

Squat cleans because I like squats and I like cleans, so I get 2 movements in 1!

What’s a fun fact about yourself that most people don’t know?

I’m pretty crafty…I can make quilts and will do other craft projects that look fun. I also used to work with my dad building houses, so I can build a wall if I need to.
